The passage that I find most important in "The Bear" is when Ike McCaslin sees the deer. " It seemed to him that he could actually see the deer; the buck, blond, smoke colored, elongated with speed fleeing, vanishing, the woods , the gray solitude , still ringing even when the cries of the dog had died away".
