In American history, the period between 1945 and 1964 was an era of economic growth, war, and prosperity that saw the victory of World War II confronting each other in the cold war. Counterculture is a term which is used in describing a cultural group whose norms and values are at odds with those of the social majority. This is a term that was being used in referring to youth rebellion, which swept the western society in 1960s and in early 1970s.
